A small bomb was detonated at a Bangkok military hospital on Monday, wounding more than 20 people, police said. The bombing took place on the third anniversary of the 2014 military coup.
“From the initial report it was a bomb… There are more than 20 people injured,” Deputy National Police Chief General Srivara Rangsibrahmanakul told reporters. The deputy commissioner of the Royal Thai Police has stated that investigators have found traces of batteries and wires at the blast site and have also stated that the blast radius of the bomb was up to 3 meters.
The bombing comes weeks after a double explosion injured 50 people at a shopping centre in Pattani.
