Criminal case filed against Arnab Goswami by Times Now

Amid ongoing spat between Arnab Goswami and Times Now, Bennett, Coleman & Co Ltd (BCCL) has filed a case of theft against Arnab Goswami and Prema Sridevi of Republic TV for infringing copyrights according to the reports.

According to a report in Economic Times, Times now accuses Arnab Goswami of offenses which include theft, criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of property and infringement of IPR of BCCL by broadcasting the same on his (Arnab’s) new venture the Republic TV on two different occasions which relate to Lalu and Sunanda tapes.

Both the tapes were allegedly acquired and produced when Arnab and Prema were under the employment of Times Now on the complaint, the report said.

Goswami went on record said earlier that the previous employer did not allow them to air these tape.

Observers say that the mega launch of the RepublicTV seems to have rattled many big media houses and Arnab is now under firing line after his channel’s success to connect huge media audience.
