We all  have  a park nearby, whether it be a local city garden,  neighborhood community park  or our personal garden. The nice thing about parks, regardless of their size, is that they appeal to all kinds of people. Sporty types may want to take advantage of jogging running etc or on a chilling note we can chit chat while doing walks. And lazy homebodies can relax against a tree to catch up on some reading, or do a little people watching.

Take a Class

If there’s something you’ve been wanting to do or learn, the weekend may be the best time to do it. During the week, it’s often tough to find time to take your favorite yoga class, or those piano lessons,  or zumba  you’ve been itching to do. Don’t let the weekend go without scheduling yourself a lesson.

You can also spend your free time teaching yourself some new skills, like web design or photography. The weekend is your time to indulge into the things that interest you most, so make sure you take advantage and learn what you can.Find time and indulge.

Hit the Library near you

When was the last time you went to your local library ?Do we even know that we have a local library in almost all the areas? Libraries are one of the best resources in your town, especially if you are looking for something to do that’s free.  It just feels too good to be true! But even if you don’t check out any books, or have a card for that library, you are still allowed to spend hours sitting  up in a corner with a good book. What’s better than that? So much learning, de stressing and all that for free…

Cook a nice meal

If you want to do something active, but not too active. There are plenty of things to do around the house, but none much nicer than making a real dinner. Spend the day experimenting with a new recipe, or whipping up your favorite comfort food ,learning to make a cocktail or mocktail if you are fond of fancy drinks. Then sit down at your table and eat like a fine dinning experience.

Baking is another art which is very under explored. Baking your own breads dinner rolls is extremely easy( more than we all know) and yet so satisfying.

MEDITATION

It Improves concentration – A clear mind makes you more productive .We are less bothered by little things. Meditation helps us detach. We learn to live in the here and now, rather than worrying about the past or future. We do not worry about meaningless things, but see the bigger picture.It gives us better Health – There have been numerous studies pointing to the health benefits of meditation. The reason is that meditation reduces stress levels and alleviates anxiety. If we can reduce stress, many health benefits follow.

Simple, yet little things that we can do on the weekend and remain uplifted.
