In a nail biting match, Belgian midfielder Leander Dendoncker struck a late header as Anderlecht held Manchester United to an exciting 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final played at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium on Thursday night.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan had earlier put Jose Mourinho’s side in the lead by tapping in from a tight angle after Marcus Rashford’s shot was spilled in the first half.

United dominated their Belgian hosts for much of the match, but were made to rue not taking their chances as Dendoncker got in front of Matteo Darmian to head an equaliser with the Belgian side’s first effort on goal four minutes from time, reports goal.com
The quarter-final was the fourth successive European trip Mkhitaryan had netted on. But Mourinho’s relief to return to Old Trafford with an away goal will no doubt be tinged with disappointment having allowed the victory to slip away.
