We all have our favourite books from childhood which we love to read time and again. Every child should have the reading habit and books can be their best friends.

Classic books of all times are best for all growing kids. We bring you ten classic reads of all times which every child should read while growing up.

1. Charlie and The Chocolate Factory  By Roald Dahl

An 11-year-old boy named Charlie Bucket lives in poverty in a tiny house with his parents and four grandparents. His grandparents share the only bed in the house, located in the only bedroom. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a fantasy novel for children by C. S. Lewis, published by Geoffrey Bles in 1950. It’s the first published and best known of seven novels in The Chronicles of Narnia.

4. Winnie The Pooh By AA Milne

Winnie-the-Pooh is the first volume of stories about Winnie-the-Pooh, by A. A. Milne. It is followed by The House at Pooh Corner.

5. Black Beauty By Anna Sewell

Black Beauty is an 1877 novel by English author Anna Sewell. It was composed in the last years of her life, during which she remained in her house as an invalid. The story is narrated in the first person as an autobiographical memoir told by the titular horse named Black Beauty—beginning with his carefree days as a colt on an English farm with his mother, to his difficult life pulling cabs in London, to his happy retirement in the country.

6. James and The Giant Peach By Roald Dahl

Protagonist James Henry Trotter, 4 years old, lives with his loving parents in a beautiful cottage by the sea in the south of England, until his parents are killed by an escaped rhinoceros during a shopping trip in London.

7. The BFG By Roald Dahl

The story is about a young orphaned girl named Sophie, living in a girl’s orphanage run by the cantankerous and abusive Mrs Clonkers. One night, Sophie sees a large, cloaked person blowing something via a trumpet-like object into a bedroom window down the street. She is discovered by the mysterious person, who carries her to his homeland of Giant Country.

8. A Bear Called Paddington By Michael Bond

Paddington Bear had travelled all the way from Peru when the Browns first met him in Paddington Station. Since then, their lives have never been quite the same for ordinary things become extraordinary when a bear called Paddington is involved.

9. Treasure Island By Robert Louis Stevenson

Treasure Island is an adventure novel by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, narrating a tale of “buccaneers and buried gold”. Its influence is enormous on popular perceptions of pirates, including such elements as treasure maps marked with an “X”, schooners, the Black Spot, tropical islands, and one-legged seamen bearing parrots on their shoulders.

10. Adventures of Huckleberry Finn By Mark Twain

The story begins in fictional St. Petersburg, Missouri (based on the actual town of Hannibal, Missouri), on the shore of the Mississippi River “forty to fifty years ago” (the novel having been published in 1884). Huckleberry “Huck” Finn (the protagonist and first-person narrator) and his friend, Thomas “Tom” Sawyer, have each come into a considerable sum of money as a result of their earlier adventures (detailed in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer).
