Vikas Swarup appointed Indian High Commissioner to Canada

Spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs, Vikas Swarup, has been appointed as High Commissioner of India to Canada.

Swarup is an officer of the Indian Foreign Service batch of 1986 and is famous for penning down the novel Q & A, adapted in film as Slumdog Millionaire.

Gopal Baglay, Joint Secretary dealing with Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran will replace Swarup as the spokesperson of MEA
