New Hyundai Xcent facelift leaked images; launch expected in late 2017

If you are planning to buy a compact sedan, then you must wait as South Korean carmaker, Hyundai, is currently working to update its model range including the facelift Verna, Grand i10 and the Xcent.

Latest pictures of Xcent facelift have surfaced on the internet, indicating the launch of the compact sedan is around the corner. The company will first launch the Grand i10 in India followed by the launch of the Verna and Xcent, respectively in 2017.

According to a report, Hyundai Xcent facelift will get new equipment, both at the exterior and interior as well as some mechanical updates. Under the hood, the upcoming Xcent is likely to get the same 1.2 litre petrol engine that produces 81 hp of power and 113.7 Nm of torque. The transmission duty is performed by a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The current smaller displacement 1.1 litre engine is expected to be replaced with a 1.2 litre engine. However, the company has not yet confirmed about the powertrain options and the new engine is likely to first debut in the Grand i10 facelift.

The spied images of the Hyundai Xcent indicates that the carmaker has made significant cosmetic changes at the exterior to enhance its styling. Although the car is partially camouflaged, one can make out that the exterior is expected to get revised and wider grille than the current model as well as new bumpers, both at the front and rear. The rear end is where most of the changes can be seen, including a redesigned tail lamps and the boot gate.

The Hyundai Xcent facelift is expected to be priced between Rs 5.50 lakh and Rs 8.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, which means the prices will largely remain similar to the current model.
