Battle for State: Shivpal Yadav meets CM Akhilesh Yadav; patch up likely

Amid feud in the Yadav family leading to the expulsion of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav from the Samajwadi Party, things seem to calm down as party member Shivpal Yadav is meeting Akhilesh Yadav at his residence that may lead to a patch up for the upcoming state elections.

Here are the highlights:

  • Akhilesh Yadav met Samajwadi lawmakers on Thursday. 220 of the party’s 229 legislators were present in a giveaway of the Chief Minister’s hold on the party.
  • Amar Singh meets Mulayam Singh Yadav at his residence in Lucknow.

Ram Gopal Yadav says he will submit affidavits of elected representatives today and another 5,000 affidavits of delegates supporting Akhikesh as SP national president will be handed over to ECI on Saturday
