Aslam with his friend, Javed used chloroform to make the girl unconscious. Her nose started bleeding soon. The two boys panicked and strangled her with a phone charger.

The duo then made a number of calls to her father, Mumtaz Khan asking for a ransom of Rs 1 crore.

Mr. Khan was asked by the police to negotiate the ransom so that the caller could be traced. The kidnapper agreed for Rs 28 lakh and asked them to leave the money in a bag at the Kalwa railway track. The police recognised that it was a teenager’s voice.

Aslam while aiding the police earlier had named 5 suspects. The police then rushed to nab the two boys who had come to pick up the bag filled with money from the railway tracks. A tip-off regarding Javed helped solve the case. When both of them were brought for a confrontation, Aslam confessed the crime. Aslam told the police that he strangled her and hid her in the house in order to take money from her father.
