One of the greatest playback singers of India, Mohammed Rafi was born on December 24th, 1924. He was born in Kotla Sultan Singh located near Amritsar in the then undivided Punjab.
Mhmd. Rafi, will get two new landmark memorials named on him on his 92nd birth anniversary. In Mumbai, the 16th Road would be renamed after Rafi, an existing memorial at Hill Road-S V Road junction — revamped by a fan club — would be inaugurated on today, 36 years after his death on July 31, 1980.
