NEWSMOBILE EXCLUSIVE: ‘This is not the End’ India’s message to Terror masterminds in Pakistan

Upbeat by the success of surgical strikes there has been a paradigm shift in Indo-Pak ties. “We have changed the script and made it unpredictable” element in Indo Pak ties, a highly placed source told NewsMobile.

A day after India’s successful surgical strike against Pakistan, a top source spoke at length to  NewsMobile. Earlier we would go through the motions of diplomatic Demarche and then revert to business as usual.

Speaking on the conditions of anonymity, the source privy to the entire operation disclosed that India wanted to ensure that there was no collateral damage and only the target which were the terror launching pads that were hit and they executed the mission with precision.

“Anyone who was found supporting the terrorists was killed in the mission and the number of killed terrorists could be as high as 100.” Asked if India can undertake missions of this kind to flush out terrorists, the answer was a ‘YES’.

“If they don’t stop terrorism we will respond in the manner in which we deem fit, This is not the end, there will not be any predictability in our response,” the highly placed source disclosed.

Intensive preparations went into this, we didn’t want to escalate, air drop would have also run the risk of being shot down by a missile which could have led to an escalation.

“I want to clarify that like the operation in Myanmar this was an operation against the terror groups who were planning attacks against India,” he said. “We couldn’t have gone ahead with the usual script that Pakistan has been expecting and thinks that we will follow,” he continued.  Had to exercise limited options but I am glad that it worked out, the source added.

Asked on Pakistan and terror group retaliating, “We do expect some retaliation but we have to be prepared for it and be vigilant, ” he said .

What has also come is a welcome change from India’s earlier timid style, On the diplomatic front, the interlocutors have been told that India cannot give any assurances that this will not happen again. What they need to do is to ask Pakistan to stop terrorism and dismantle the terror infrastructure.

And above all what made the difference this time was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s willingness to go along with a tough response and demonstration of political will.
