New Delhi, Sep 21 (PTI) A minor fire today broke out atthe ground floor of the crowded Safadarjung Hospital here, butwas soon brought under control and no major damage or casualtyoccurred. The fire broke out in a meter box near casualty ward ofthe hospital this evening. "A call of fire at MCB box containing electricity wireand meter, near casualty ward of the hospital on ground floorwas reported around 4.15 pm. Four fire tenders were rushed tothe spot and the fire was controlled within a few minutes,"said Atul Garg, Chief Fire Officer, Delhi Fire Service. Although the fire was not major, smoke emitted due toburning of wire and electrical fitting in the meter box causedpanic among patients, their attendants and hospitalstaff. The cause of the fire was under investigation but it wassuspected that the blaze broke due to overheating of theelectrical wire, police said. PTI VIT PMS RTPMS
