The BRICS leaders voiced committed to work towards theentry into force of the Paris Climate Agreement withcompletion of due domestic procedures and its fullimplementation. "They emphasised that developed countries shall continueto provide financial, technical and capacity building supportto developing countries with respect to both mitigation andadaptation for the implementation of the Paris Agreement," thecommunique added. During the day, Akbar held a series of bilateral meetingson the margins of the UN General Assembly session. He discussed "bilateral and multilateral" issues with SriLankan President Maithripala Sirisena, the Indian mission tothe UN said. Akbar also had discussions with Foreign Minister ofDenmark Kristian Jensen, Foreign Minister of Colombia MariaAngela Holguin Cuellar, Foreign Minister of Ireland CharlesFlanagan besides meeting Vuk Jeremic, candidate of theRepublic of Serbia for election as UN Secretary-General.
