PM to visit Kozhikode on Sep 24 to attend 3-day national BJP

meet Kochi, Sep 20 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi willvisit Kozhikode in Kerala on September 24 to attend the BJP’sthree-day national council meeting, a senior party leader saidhere today. "Upon his arrival in the city in the evening, the PrimeMinister will address a public meeting being organised as partof the national council," senior BJP leader and party’s formerKerala unit president, V Muraleedharan said. The Prime Minister will attend the BJP meetings onSeptember 24 and 25. Modi will also inaugurate the birthcentenary celebrations of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, formerJan Sangh president, at a special function on September 25evening, he said. The Prime Minister will return to New Delhi after thefunction, he said. Muraleedharan said BJP Chief Amit Shah would arrive inKozhikode on September 22 to give leadership to the meetingsbeing organised to mark the centenary year of DeendayalUpadhyayay. Around 1,700 leaders, including Union ministers, ChiefMinisters of party-ruled states, MPs, MLAs, party’s nationalleaders and top leaders of the party’s various state unitswill attend the meeting from September 23, said Muraleedharan. Kozhikode was chosen for the national council meeting asDeendayal Upadhayay was elected Jan Sangh president at theparty’s conclave in that city in December 1967. PTI TGB APRIKA
