Mercury rises in Bihar

Patna, Sep 20 (PTI) Mercury rose marginally in the absenceof rain in Bihar which witnessed a humid condition today evenas water level went below danger mark in all rivers. Except for 1 mm rain in Purnea, rest other places in thestate did not receive rainfall today, the Met office said. Maximum temperature in Patna was measured at 34 degreesCelsius. It was 34.7 degrees Celsius in Gaya, 33.2 degreesCelsius in Bhagalpur and 33.5 degrees Celsius in Purnea, theMet bulletin added. Relative humidity in the state capital was recorded at 88per cent. It was 76 per cent in Gaya, 85 per cent in Bhagalpurand 94 per cent in Purnea, the bulletin added. The state weather office forecast generally cloudy skywith moderate rain tomorrow. Meanwhile, flood situation has come under control in thestate with all major rivers flowing below danger level. A statement of Central Flood Control said all embankmentswere safe in the state.
