HC dismisses PIL for spl pkg of Rs 1.25 lakh cr

Patna, Sep 20 (PTI) The Patna high court today dismisseda PIL seeking its direction to the central government forimplementation of the special package of Rs 1.25 lakh crorefor Bihar which was announced by the Prime Minister NarendraModi during last Assembly polls. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Iqbal AhmadAnsari and Justice Anjan Mishra dismissed the PIL filed byadvocate Anil Kumar Mukund who sought direction forimplementation of special package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore forBihar. The bench said that it could not pass such an order andthe petitioner could approach other forum for redressal ofgrievances. The court dismissed the PIL after hearing both thecounsel for the central and the state governments, besidesthat of the petitioner. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a specialpackage of Rs 1.25 lakh crore for Bihar at a public meeting atAra in the run-up to the Assembly polls in the state lastyear. PTI AR PRRT
