Girl dies after allegedly being thrown off moving train

Bareilly (UP), Sep 20 (PTI) A 16-year-old girl’s body wasfound at the Atamanda railway station here, with her familyclaiming that she was thrown off a moving train. Shaheen, belonging to Uttarakhand’s Haldwani, had boardedthe Lalkaun-Bareilly city express for Bareilly and her bodywas found at the Atamanda railway station last night, policesaid. The body was bearing serious injury marks and has beensent for postmortem, they said. While Circle Officer Jitendra Singh said the girl diedin an accident and was not thrown off, her family has allegedthat she was on her way to consult a doctor in Bareilly andthere was no chance of her trying to get down the train whichcould have led to any mishap. Notably, the train does not have a stoppage at the railwaystation where Shaheen’s body was found. There have been incidents of eve teasing in trains on theroute, the girl’s family alleged and maintained that she wasthrown off the moving train.
