Cop who attempted suicide dies

Thane, Sep 20 (PTI A 22-year-old police constable, whoallegedly shot himself during the recent Ganpati festival, hassuccumbed to his wounds, police said today. Sagar Malunkar was guarding the armoury on the nightof September 15, during the occasion of ‘Anant Chaturdashi’,when he had allegedly shot himself with his rifle, they said. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital wherehe died late last night due to excessive blood loss, a policeofficer said. A suicide note found on his person had purportedlymentioned that no one should be blamed for his extreme step. The body has been sent for postmortem, police added.PTI CORR GK DVSNK
