Kolkata, Sep 20 (PTI) The West Bengal government wouldoffer jobs and financial assistance of Rs two lakh each to thefamilies of the two jawans from the state killed in themilitant attacks in Uri, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee saidtoday. "Generally the Centre does it… We’ve done it for CRPFsin the past. On humanitarian ground, we will offer jobs ofhome guards to someone in the family and Rs two lakh each tothe families of two jawans Gangadhar Dolui and Biswajit Ghoraias special cases," Banerjee told reporters at statesecretariat Nabanna. Two of her cabinet ministers — Arup Roy and RajivBanerjee — were present at Dolui’s residence in Howrahdistrict’s Jagatballavpur, she said. "My ministers were present at Dolui’s residence atJagatballavpur," she said, adding that gun salute was given. In one of the deadliest attacks on the army in the recentyears, 18 jawans were killed and over 20 others injured asheavily armed suspected Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)militants, stormed an army base at Uri town in north Kashmir’sBaramulla district in the wee hours on Sunday.
