Congress activists burn effigies of Badals, Valtoha

Phagwara (Pb), Sep 17 (PTI) Congress activists today burnteffigies of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy ChiefMinister Sukhbir Badal and Akali MLA Virsa Singh Valtoha toprotest the alleged "caste slur remarks" against Congress MLA. Raising slogans against Valtoha and others, theprotesters, led by District Congress Committee presidentJoginder Singh Mann, also held a demonstration before burningthe effigies opposite PWD Rest House along National Highway 1. Addressing protesters, Mann alleged that Akali "feudallords" could not digest the rise of a scheduled caste and the"foul-mouthed" Valtoha used "casteist remarks" againstCongress MLA from Banga Tarlochan Singh Soondh.
