Ganesha Chaturthi is a festival of great joy celebrated across the country. The 10-day festival is the birth of Lord Ganesha. The mythology behind Ganesha’s birth is he was born by Lady Parvati’s body, Parvati’s husband lord Shiva didn’t recognise him and cut his head while he was protecting his mother’s door.
In remorse, Shiva gets him another head, he asks Vishnu for it. Vishnu turns with an Elephant head. And since then the Ganesha is the God with elephant head and is to be worshipped first.
