IIT-Roorkee embarks on digital transformation journey

Roorkee (U’khand), Sep 2 (PTI) IIT-Roorkee has become thefirst IIT in the country to embark on a digital transformationjourney by deploying ERP technology across its campus withDirector Pradipta Banerji today describing the step as anotherfeather in the cap of the prestigious institute. "In sync with IIT-Roorkee’s heritage and legacy of manyfirsts, with Wave-I of ADVAITA ERP digitisation project, weadd another feather in the cap of the institute by becomingthe 1st IIT in India to have chosen for operational digitaltransformation across our campuses. "It is like embarking on a voyage of self-discovery; letthere be no doubt that this is the beginning of a monumentalchange, that is going to transform the way we perform variousprocesses," Banerji said at an event held to mark theimplementation of the project. "A whole new world of possibilities awaits us, like neverbefore; our challenge is, not only to embrace this changeunwaveringly, but also to leverage its potential to thefullest," he said. With the implementation and completion of the ERPDigitisation Project, IIT-Roorkee is set to efficientlytransform its processes and systems for operationalefficiency, transparency and a better user experience inday-to-day functions for the students and administrationalike. Over a period of time and with completion of Wave-II nextyear with campus-wide integration, ADVAITA SAP ERP Systemwould help the institute achieve a greater focus on analytics,better and quick decision making, robust and accurate businessinformation, improved financial reporting, and simpleeasy-to-use interfaces; all of which shall be valued as thesystem kicks-off on conclusion of the project. The SAP ERP System would empower the IIT workforceleading to eventual devolution of decision making to ease theoperational administrative procedures.
