Date:

New Delhi, Sep 2 (PTI) Come October, the city will be hostto a contemporary urban mela that will bring together food, art, fashion, magic, health and a lot more to render acomplete "family experience." The 2nd edition of ’10 Heads Festival’, organised byTrifecta Entertainment, is scheduled to be held from October21 – 23 at Nehru Park here. It aims to curate interactive experiences across ten keyinterest areas ranging from music and entertainment, food anddrinks, fashion and beauty, art and culture, magic and a kidszone. "We noticed that almost all festivals have the same formatand are largely youth-oriented. We felt there was a need tocome up with something more inclusive. "10 heads is a celebration of multidimensional culturalexperience where the stress is on reviving India’s greattradition of the family outing," says Anshuman Ghulati, CEOand co-founder of Trifecta Entertainment. Playing on the mythological demon king Ravana’s 10 heads,Ghulati describes each head of the festival as essentially "anexperience." Each experience is headed by a leading individual in thefield who will unite at the festival to offer something foreverybody – from children and college students tograndparents. "We have identified and got on board the right curatorsfor each of our ten heads, who will then come together toenhance the experience at the festival," says Ghulati. The organisers have done away with few heads from the lastedition and have created a more inclusive list of experienceswhich will include ‘Foodistaan’, ‘Toddyfest’, ‘Band Baaja andBass’, ‘Great Indian Bazaar’, ‘Artistaan’, ‘Jaadunagri’,’Baccha Party’, ‘Healthyrama’, ‘Puppetfest’ and ‘Touristaan’. Ghulati says that like any other ‘mela’ food willcertainly hold the festival together, but it is a "highentertainment quotient" that they are looking to offer. One of the new additions is the head on ‘state focussedtourism’ which will showcase tourist attractions from thesouthern state of Telangana. Visitors will have a chance toview the state’s art and craft and relish its cuisine. The Great Indian Bazaar will have popular boutique brandsshowcasing their ranges of beauty, fashion and lifestyle, along with a ‘Mystic Corner’ that will feature tarot-cardreaders, numerology experts and astrologists. A Festival of Magic, Illusion and Mentalism will seemarquee and street performances besides holding teach-a-trickworkshops for children. The gala event will also have a zone dedicated to childrenthat will feature games and everything else that can "tug atthe heart strings of the young," Gulati says. Street food from across the country as well as handpickedrestaurants at nominal prices, a fashionable flea market, mixed martial arts, yoga and fitness studios, contemporary artand craft will be among other highlights.
