In order deter Pakistan through soft power, All India Radio (AIR) is soon going to switch on programs in Balochi language for the people living in Balochistan province of Pakistan and other areas.
According to AIR sources, the government of India has given the green light to the initiative.
While commenting on the development, Congress leader Meem Afzal said, “I think it is part of the government’s policy. Let’s see what kind of bulletins they run. I believe there is nothing to objection to it as there are other languages also that are being run in AIR.”
The decision is being seen against the backdrop of the recent remarks made by Prime Minister Modi on Independence Day of India over human rights violations in Balochistan.
It is fascinating to underline that the programs broadcasted in the Jammu and Kashmir are can be accessed in POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) and even very popular, according to The Greater Kashmir.
According to Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh, the programs aired by AIR are without any disturbance available in the PoK region and beyond (areas of Punjab, Pakistan, including Lahore).
