At an event at Jodhpur on Wednesday, Jeep has launched two of it’s SUVs Wrangler Unlimited and Grand Cherokee with the price ranging from ₹ 72 lakh to ₹1.12 crore (Ex-showroom, Delhi).
Wrangler Unlimited will be available only in one variant for ₹ 71.59 lakh while the Grand Cherokee will have three different variants including the powerful SRT ranging from ₹ 93.76 lakh to ₹ 1.12 crore. The detail pricing follows as;
Jeep Wrangler: Wrangler Unlimited – ₹ 71.59 lakh
Jeep Wrangler Unlimited version will be launched in India and will have only one variant to offer at the time of launch that will have automatic transmission and 4WD system as standard.
The Wrangler will get 2.8-litre diesel engine that produces 197bhp and 460Nm of torque which is mated on a 5-speed automatic transmission and 4×4 system that sends equal power to all four wheels. Claimed fuel efficiency for the SUV is 12.1 kmpl.
Wrangler is a four door five-seater SUV with 884litres of boot space behind the second row. It also has high ground clearance of 238mm that is sufficient for all type of road conditions of the country.
Feature list for the Wrangler Unlimited includes a touch-screen infotainment unit, 28GB useable hard drive for music, heated front-seats, tyre pressure monitoring system. On safety side, Wrangler offers front dual-airbags, Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill ascend and descent control.
There will be five colour options for the SUV- Black, Billet Silver Metallic, Bright White, Granite Crystal, Firecracker red and Rhino.
Grand Cherokee Limited – ₹ 93.76 lakh, Grand Cherokee Summit – ₹ 1.03 crore, Grand Cherokee SRT – ₹ 1.12 crore
The feature list for this 5-seater SUV includes- Automatic climate control, electric adjustment front seats and heated front seats as standard. The Summit and the SRT variants will get an 8.4-inch touchscreen display, 19-speakers, Harman Kardon music system, GPS navigation, rear seat screens and Jeep’s proprietary UConnect software.
On safety perspective, all three models get over 10 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), limited slip differential, hill descent and start to assist.
Jeep India has started operations with the Ahmedabad a dealership at Ahmedabad and will be followed by Delhi, Kochi, Chennai, Banglore, Mumbai and Lucknow. Jeep has also promised to launch Petrol versions of it’s SUVs in this November.
