One killed, another injured as wall collapses

Kolkata, Aug 18 (PTI) A man was killed and anotherinjured after a boundary wall collapsed during a squall here,police said today. The boundary wall collapsed probably when a tree fell onit during the squall yesterday and the two men got trappedunder it in Bright Street area of south Kolkata, they said. One person was rescued from under the rubble and admittedto a hospital last night, while a body was pulled out fromunder the rubble today, a Kolkata Police officer said. Following the incident, Disaster Management Group ofKolkata Police swung into action to pull out the second manfrom under the rubble but he was found dead, the officer said,adding the exact cause of his death would be known after thepost mortem. Three persons were killed and six others injured when astorm accompanied by rain hit the city and coastal areas ofWest Bengal yesterday. While two persons were killed at Jadavpur in the southernparts of the city, one pedestrian lost his life at Beliaghatain northern part of the metropolis, police had said.
