Big B’s ‘Aankhen 2’ to clash with ‘Golmaal 4’ next Diwali?

Mumbai, Aug 18 (PTI) In what could turn into a big boxoffice clash, director Anees Bamzee has said that he mayrelease his forthcoming film "Aankhen 2" next year in Diwali,a festive slot which will also see release of Rohit Shetty’s"Golmaal Again". "We will start shooting next month. We are planning aDiwali release next year. It’s a big film so it has to come ona special day," Anees told PTI. The fourth instalment of the hit comedy franchise"Golmaal" will also open in theaters on Diwali next year. "Golmaal Again" will feature Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi,Sharman Joshi, Tusshar Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Rimi Sen inlead roles. All the three previous films – "Golmaal" (2006),"Golmaal Returns" (2008) and "Golmaal 3" (2010) were releasedduring Diwali and were box office success. Makers of "Aankhen 2" last night announced the starcast with Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, IleanaD’Cruz, south actress Regina Cassandra in the lead roles. A heist drama "Aankhen 2" is a sequel to 2002 release"Aankhen", which beside Bachchan and Rampal, had Akshay Kumar,Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Sen. In 2012 Ajay Devgn’s "Son of Sardaar" and Yash Chopra’slast directorial venture "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" got into an uglybattle for the number of screens. Ajay had filed a complaint with the CompetitionCommission Of India (CCI). This year too, two big films are locking horns at thebox office on the festive occasion, with Karan Johar’s "Ae DilHai Mushkil" and Ajay’s "Shivaay" scheduled to release onOctober 28.
