Mumbai, Aug 17 (PTI) To encourage artists and celebratenew ideas through the power of art, the music festival NH7Weekender seeks to showcase some of the most intriguing artworks including elaborate installations, intricate stagedesigns and graffiti. In addition to concerts and live stages, the festival’stheme-based travelling exhibit, the NH7 Periphery Art Projectis set to be showcase across the cities of Shillong, Hyderabadand Pune. The exhibition will give an opportunity to 30 handpickedartists to show their work in the festival across these threecities. Previously, the festival has displayed some intriguing artworks including elaborate installations, intricate stagedesigns and graffiti. These include Shilo Shiv Suleman’s ‘Pulse and Bloom’, ‘NH7Kabootar’ and ‘Dream Universe Of The Dewarists’, French artistChifumi’s ‘Rockness Monster’ and Ayushman Mitra’s ‘LollyDolly’, ‘Love Beds’ and ‘House Tripping’. The NH7 Weekender is collaborating with Mumbai-basedBombay Duck Designs, the studio of illustrator and visualartist, Sameer Kulavoor, for the art project. "Designers, illustrators, typographers, artists andprintmakers are required to send in three of their best worksamples in a jpeg format along with a brief note aboutthemselves and their work," organisers said. On the basis of the work samples, a shortlist of 30 of theartists is scheduled to be put out by August 23. "Artists will be expected to submit fresh artwork based ona theme that will be assigned to them by September 5, whichwill make its way to the three cities," organisers said. The festival this year is scheduled to take place inShillong on October 21-22, in Hyderabad on November 5-6 andin Pune on December 2-4. PTIANS
