Ensure women feel safe and secure at all times: President

New Delhi, Aug 17 (PTI) President Pranab Mukherjee todayasked countrymen to resolve and ensure that women and girlsfeel safe and secure at all times. In his message to the country on the eve of RakshaBandhan, Mukherjee said the festival of Rakhi stands for theeternal bond of love and trust that brothers and sistersshare. "May the Rakhi festival strengthen fraternal feelings andthe spirit of oneness in our society as we strive collectivelyfor the well-being of our people," he said. Mukherjee said may this unique festival inculcate theneed to protect the women in our society and promote theirwelfare. "Let us on this occasion resolve to ensure that the womenand girls of our country feel safe and secure at all times,"he said. PTI ABSRG
