Kolkata, Aug 17 (PTI) In a bid to expedite the decisionmaking process of the party, the CPI(M) Bengal unit has mootedthe idea of removing the zonal committees from the three-tierdecision making process of the party. The idea was floated in CPI(M)’s two day state committeemeeting on the organisation lacunaes faced by the party. CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and Politburomember Prakash Karat were today present in CPI(M) statecommittee meet. "Today while discussing various aspects of partyorganisation, it came out that the decision making process andthe feedback system is very slow. Then the idea of removingthe zonal committee came up. Because most of the membersopined that local, district and state committees are enough,there is no need of zonal committees," a CPI(M) statecommittee member said. "It has also been decided that old members and memberswho have found to be inactive and not working should beremoved from the party and fresh blood should be infused intothe organisation," he said.
