Kolkata, Aug 16 (PTI) With several Trinamool Congresscouncillors facing allegations of involvement in syndicatebusiness (supply of construction materials) and extortion, theparty has convened a meeting of party councillors on August19, where it is slated to draw up a "guideline of conduct". According to TMC sources, party chief Mamata Banerjeewas "extremely disappointed" with the "high-handed" attitudeof a section of councillors, especially their involvement insyndicate and real estate business. A TMC source said that Banerjee had warned against"high-handedness" by public representatives. "Some of them have mended their ways and some not. It isgiving a wrong perception about the image of the party," hesaid. A TMC councillor of ward no 41 of BidhannagarMunicipal Corporation Anindya Chattopadhyay was arrested lastmonth on a complaint by a resident of the area about analleged extortion bid, triggering stern action against severalTMC leaders and councillors.
