GST Bill to be passed in Haryana assembly in Monsoon session:

Abhimanyu Chandigarh, Aug 16 (PTI) Haryana Finance Minister CaptainAbhimanyu today said the state government will get the Goodsand Services Tax (GST) Bill passed in the upcoming MonsoonSession of the legislative Assembly commencing on August 26. He also termed the passage of the Bill in Parliament as arevolutionary step and said that GST would be implemented bythe Centre from April, 2017. The economic world feels that the Bill should be passedquickly so that similar tax system could be enforced in thestates too, Abhimanyu said. To a question, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi hadlaunched the ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’ programme from Panipat.With the success of the programme, the sex ratio has jumpedover 900 from 850 in the state. The Finance Minister said women police stations had beenset up in every district of the state to ensure safety ofwomen.
