Assam Rifles rifleman killed as havildar fires at him

Imphal, Aug 16 (PTI) An Assam Rifles riflemen was killedafter a havildar alleged fired at him from his service rifleat Komlakhong area in Manipur’s Imphal West district. Following a scuffle between the havildar Dayaram andrifleman Bhim on Sunday night at the 42 AR post, Dayaramallegedly opened fire from his assault rifle and Bhim diedon way to military hospital, on that day itself, a seniorpolice officer said quoting delayed reports. The accused havildar Dayaram was arrested yesterday aftera case was registered in this connection at Mayang Imphalpolice station, the officer said. The deceased rifleman hailed from Madhya Pradesh whilethe accused havildar was from Uttar Pradesh. The AR did not comment on the alleged incident. PTI CORSUSRG
