Srinagar, Aug 11 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief SecretaryB R Sharma today chaired a meeting of administrativesecretaries here to review the status of projects under thePrime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP). The Chief Secretary received briefs from theadministrative secretaries about the steps being taken bytheir departments in the execution and completion of theprojects approved under PMDP, an official spokesman said. He said the Rs 80,068 crore development packageannounced by the Prime Minister during his visit to the stateon November 7 last year includes Rs 7,854 crore for floodrelief, reconstruction and flood management, Rs 42,611 crorefor road and highway projects, Rs 11,708 crore for power, newand renewable energy projects and Rs 4,900 crore for varioushealth sector projects. The package also includes Rs 2,600 crore for humanresource development, skill development and sports projects,Rs 2,241 crore for tourism projects, Rs 2,312 crore for urbandevelopment projects, Rs 5,263 crore for youth employmentprojects and for rehabilitation of Kashmiri Migrants, familiesfrom Chhamb and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, besides Rs 529crore for agriculture and food processing projects and Rs 50crore for Pashmina promotion project, the spokesman said. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is periodicallyreviewing the implementation of PMDP with the state governmentofficials.
