Hiranandani hospital CEO among 5 doctors arrested in Kidney racket

The CEO and medical director of Dr L H Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai were arrested in a Kidney Racket in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Mumbai police apprehended CEO Sujeet Chaterjee, medical director Anurag Naik, and doctors Mukesh Shete, Mukesh Shah and Prakash Shetty. There was alleged medical negligence on part of these accused.

Ashok Dudhe, deputy commissioner of police and spokesperson for Mumbai Police said, “Based on the report of appropriate authority today at 8:30pm, the Powai Police arrested the five doctors under section 12 and 21 of the transplantation of human organs act 1994”.

The investigation by the Police  established that Bhijendra Bhisen, the main accused in the case, used agents for donors and recipients, mostly from Gujarat.
