She is the first Indian woman for apparatus finals in Artistic Gymnastics. She qualified after finishing eighth in the qualifiers. The Tripura-girl secured 14.85 points in total in two vaults.
Dipa is one of the five women that have successfully performed the very difficult Produnova vault in competition. The finals will be on on August 14 at 2317 hrs. On this independence day, she will try to bring medal for India.
In the past, she has taken medal in Commonwealth Games.
