Date:

The 44th President of United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama II celebrates his birthday today. He is the first African American President of USA.

Born on August 4, 1961, he was first elected to the White House in 2008 and later re-elected in 2012. The 55 year old is the first president born outside the continental United States, in Hawaii. He is a candidate from Democratic party and supports Hillary Clinton as the democratic candidate for the next presidential position.

He married Michelle Obama in 1992 and has 2 daughters Malia Ann and Natasha. The White House quotes him, “His story is the American story — values from the heartland, a middle-class upbringing in a strong family, hard work and education as the means of getting ahead, and the conviction that a life so blessed should be lived in service to others.”

“He went on to attend law school, where he became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. In the Illinois State Senate, he passed the first major ethics reform in 25 years, cut taxes for working families, and expanded health care for children and their parents. ” quotes the White house website.

Some of his famous quotes include:

“The strongest weapon against hateful speech is not repression; it is more speech — the voices of tolerance that rally against bigotry and blasphemy, and lift up the values of understanding and mutual respect.” At UN General Assembly in 2012.

And this is my favourite, which gives me strength, “If you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own… I’m always struck by people who think, ‘well, it must be because I was just so smart.’ There are a lot of smart people out there. ‘It must be because I worked harder than everybody else.’ Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help.”

His ideas have had a positive impact on lot many people and there have been incidents where these ideas went otherwise. But then it is these different ideas, that takes it to be the President of Unites States.

Happy Birthday Barack Obama!
