The National Investigation Agency charge sheet mentioned names of 14 Islamic preachers from across the globe. These preachers are based in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia and Zimbabwe.
The NIA charge sheet comes after the Bangladesh cafe attack, in which Zakir Naik’s name has been surfaced, given the fact that the attackers were inspired by his speeches. The NIA is still investigating Naik.
Some of the well-known names mentioned in the NIA chargesheet include UK-based Anjem Choudhary, Hamza Andreas Tzortzis, Imran Mansoor, Mizanur Rahman and Abu Waleed, US-based Yasir Qadhi, Yusuf Estes, Hamza Yusuf and Ahmad Musa Jibril, Australia-based Musa Cerantonio, Shaikh Feiz Mohammad and Omar El Banna, Zimbabwe-based Mufti Menk and Canada-based Majid Mahmood.
Many of them have openly condemned the terror a outfits like IS and Al Qaida while some have supported and justified it.
