Former opponent for the position of Democratic President Bernie Sanders, spoke in favour of her. Bernie said, “Based on her ideas and her leadership, Hillary Clinton must become the next president of the United States. The choice is not even close.”
Though some of Bernie supporters still call out for Bernie. Sanders in support of Hillary, asked support from his supporters, “If you think you can sit it out, take a moment to think about the Supreme Court justices that Donald Trump would nominate and what that would mean to civil liberties, equal rights and the future of our country,”.
The first lady Michelle Obama, also appealed for support from Hillary. She said,
“I’m here because in this election, there is only one person who I trust with that responsibility and only one person who is truly qualified to be president of the United States, and that is our friend Hillary Clinton. I want someone who has the proven strength to persevere.”
The crowd supported her with cheers, “We love you, Michelle!”
Obama added in support of Clinton, “In this election, we cannot sit back and hope that everything works out for the best. We cannot afford to be tired or frustrated or cynical. Because of Hillary Clinton my daughters can now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States,”.
The Democratic National Convention started from July 25 and will be on till 28, in Philadelphia.
