NewsMobile brings you an exclusive interview with Ssumier Pasricha, who is better known to the world these days as Pammi Aunty. Pasricha, a Modern School Barakhamba alumni from Delhi has become an instant hit since the day his videos and comic vines of Pammi Aunty went Viral.
As of now, his channel has more than 5 lac views on YouTube. The idea of Pammi Aunty began when Pasricha was asked by his young nephew to install the popular application – Snapchat. After viewing a couple of Snap Stories of his relative aunts, Pasricha made a video impersonating the average middle aged Punjabi woman.
Ssumier believes that his comedy is something that has gained traction because its something that all individuals can relate to, on some level, as Indians.
On being asked about the kind of comedy that he enjoys, and the relevance of other comedians like AIB and Kanan Gill, Pasricha said that unlike others, whose comedy is intended for select audiences, his comedy is something who all can relate to.
From UEFA Euro 2016, to Pokemon Go! Pammi Aunty rants about everything under the sun. Especially her daughter in-law, who is an MBA, and is *loved* by Pammi.
Ssumier began his Indian Television and film career as an actor and rose to fame starring in the series Shubroto in the Indian TV series Code Red, and as Shailu in the soap Sasural Simar Ka on Colors TV Channel, and Randy Bhai in a musical English Play. As a linguist, Ssumier is fluent in six languages and has worked in more than 30 plays and performed both, in national and international theatre festivals. 36 year old, Ssumier is an MBA and has been acting since the age of ten. He also shares a passion for photography and the fine arts.
