New Delhi: For Delhiites, winter is here! Delhi-NCR woke up to dense fog on Friday morning with a sharp drop in temperature. Due to the cloudy weather, temperature has taken a dip in parts of the national capital region and Punjab and will follow suit for next two to three days.
Morning temperature in Delhi’s Dwarka was recorded at 13 degree C, notches above the season’s average.
However, light rain is likely in Delhi, Haryana and Punjab in next 24-48 hours that will result in a marginal drop in maximum and minimum temperature.
Meanwhile, more than 130 trains were cancelled and several early morning flights delayed because of the fog.
At IGI Airport, visibility barely crossed 500-900m during the day and was below 700m between 4.30pm and 7.30pm.
The day ahead would be partly cloudy with the maximum temperature likely to hover around 26.5 degrees Celsius, seven degree above the season’s average, an official from the India Meteorological Department said.
