The year is about to end and 2016 is approaching fast. It’s time to look into the new car launches hitting the showrooms next year. Carmakers are trying every possible way to woo customers and push up sales with discounts and offers that is too hard to resist.

From free insurance to cash back, free accessories and gift cheques, major players in the automotive market have come up with interesting deals and offers to lure buyers.

Honda BR-V

Honda is back with the SUV BR-V and the Japanese carmaker is planning to showcase the SUV in India during the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo following which the company planned to launch it in the middle of 2016.
The seven-seater vehicle is likely to be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The model will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and Mahindra Scorpio, among others. The India-spec Honda BR-V is based on versatile Brio platform. It will be offered with two engine options- 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel.

Expected price: 15 lakh

Renault Duster Facelift

We have seen the interest for compact SUVs in India grow by a great margin since the launch of Renault Duster in 2013. And now the French carmaker has planned to launch a facelift version of the same.
If reports are to be believed, the new Duster facelift will come with an automatic manual transmission (AMT). According to autoX, the automatic box will be fitted with 1.5-litre diesel engine that develops 110bhp of tune.
Expected price: 12 lakh

Tata Zica

Homegrown auto major Tata Motors will launch its new compact car Zica early next year as part of its drive to enhance position in the passenger vehicles segment. Engineered on a new platform, the new model is expected to be available in both petrol and diesel engine options.
The new hatchback is all set to replace the Indica and Indigo eCS. The best part is that Tata Zica looks very different and doesn’t borrow any looks from the older cars.

Expected price: 4 lakh

Maruti Suzuki Vitara

The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch its sports utility vehicle ‘Vitara’ by April 2016, after showcasing it at the 2016 Delhi Expo. Initially the company would sell the new Vitara as a completely-built-unit (CBU).
As far as the engine options for the Maruti Suzuki Vitara are concerned, the company will plan on bringing the 1.4-litre VVT petrol and a 1.3-litre multi-jet diesel.

Expected price: 10-13 lakh

Compact SUV Jeep

Jeep has always been a favourite among car lovers and bringing the love back to India is Fiat. Automaker Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is set to roll out Jeep brand next year in India with plans to establish separate sales network in around five major cities in the first phase.

Both Grand Cherokee and Wrangler brands would be launched together next year and would come as completely built units.

Maruti Wagon R MPV

With Indian car buyers looking out for affordable seven-seater MPVs these days, Maruti will most probably bring in its Wagon R in a MPV form.
If reports are to be believed, the car looks exactly the same as the original Wagon R but stretches a bit at the back to fit in third row of seats. As the far as the engine spec goes, it will most likely be powered by the 1 litre K10 engine and the 0.8 litre diesel too.

Volkswagen Taigun

German auto major Volkswagen plans to launch the new generation of its most popular SUV Tiguan in India next year. Unveiling the new Tiguan here at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen CEO Herbert Diess said the vehicle is a “proof of the strength of the Volkswagen” brand.
The Taigun-inspired SUV is expected to feature a new 1.0-litre turbo-charged TSI petrol engine, which will develop 105bhp and 175Nm of peak torque.

Expected Price: Rs 15 lakh

Maruti Ignis

Maruti Suzuki will introduce the recently unveiled Suzuki Ignis in India during the festive season of 2016. When launched, it will rival the Mahindra XUV100 (Mahindra S101) which is expected in early-2016. The Maruti Suzuki Ignis will be the company’s cheapest SUV that will be slotted below the upcoming Maruti Suzuki YBA compact SUV.
It is expected that the small crossover will be offered with two engine options- 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and a 1.3-litre MJD diesel.

Expected price: 12 lakh
