Hyderabad: In an unfortunate incident a five year old child was killed in Dilsukh nagar area of Hyderabad after her head got crushed between elevator doors in a private school.
The baby girl Syeda Zainab Fatima Jaffery, studied in class nursery in Kids Star school in Hyderabad. The Teacher was taking the students to 3rd floor from 1st floor, when her head got stuck between the closing gates of a lift.
Tension prevailed in the area after Syeda’s relatives gathered at the spot and demanded action against the school management.
The police reached the spot and tried to bring situation under control.
Though it is not yet clear how the child died but according to the eyewitnesses, when the teacher was taking the students to third floor, Syeda’s leg got stuck between the doors of the elevators and she was pulled inside and her head got crushed.
“We are registering case and we will take stern action as per the law,” said V Ravinder, DCP, Hyderabad.
“As per preliminary inquiry,teacher along with few students were going from 1st floor to 3rd floor and the girl came into grill gates, ” he added.
In the latest development, the principal of the school has been arrested.
