Imphal: Six persons were killed and two others seriously injured on Thursday when a car ploughed through a group of persons sitting on roadside at NH2 in Manipur’s Thoubal district.
A middle-aged couple were among other persons, playing cards on the roadside on Diwali, who died in the incident at Thoubal Kiyam village at about 1 AM, police said.
Five persons died on the spot and one in the hospital this morning, the police said, adding all the six have been identified.
The car driver has been arrested, the police said, adding investigations are on into the incident.
