Mayank Gandhi resigns from AAP Nat’l Exec

Date:

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Executive member Mayank Gandhi resigned from the body on Wednesday, claiming that he was losing interest in politics, and hoped that the party would find some capable representatives from Maharashtra.
Gandhi wrote on his blog:

“I have been losing interest in politics for some time, and I think that it is unfair to continue to be a member of NE with this mindset. You are requested to please accept my resignation from the NE with immediate effect. Hope that you will find some capable representatives from Maharashtra.”

He further added:

“It has been a wonderful experience working with many of you from Jan 2011 and being part of the change in this country. I pray and hope that this transformation continue and accelerate in the coming months and years and lead to a resurgent India. Arvind, India has a lot of hopes from you.”

Earlier last month, the party had disbanded its Maharashtra unit, and all associated committees, inviting strong reactions from Gandhi.

In an exclusive interview with NewsMobile last month, Gandhi had said that the unit was dissolved in a ‘very immature, high-handed manner’. He had then said that he will continue to be part of the party, and keep raising his voice against what is wrong in AAP.

To a question on if he would fancy joining the Swaraj Samwad, an initiative launched by sacked AAP leaders Yogendra Yadav, and Prashant, he had indicated that his tryst with politics was not going to last for too long.

He had said, “My romance with politics is over. My moment they kick me out, my association with politics is over. It is not my cup of tea.”
