Diwali is one of the biggest festivals in India, mainly celebrated by Hindus, but also celebrated by Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists.

Although the reasons and traditions vary on Diwali, the overall themes of ‘Good vs. Evil’ and ‘Light over Dark’ are common no matter what state you hail from. India has over 25 languages and dozens of cultural groups, but here are different ways you can greet your friends on the auspicious festival of Diwali:

Malwa:

Marwari:

Saavji:
