Manpreet Vohra is next Indian envoy to Afghanistan

Indian Foreign Service officer Manpreet Vohra has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. (Read: Modi’s big-bang reshuffle for Indian Envoys)

The 1988-batch officer is, at present, serving the ministry as Joint Secretary.

Vohra, who is expected to take up his assignment shortly, will replace Ambassador Amar Sinha.
