Jaipur: Rajasthan is to become the first Indian state to provide fortified wheat flour. The decision to launch this pilot project was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
Raje also gave instructions to include other related departments in the project.
Rajasthan’s Principal Secretary (Food and Civil Supplies), Dr Subodh Agarwal, gave a presentation on the importance of providing fortified wheat flour through the public distribution system.
Rajasthan Food and Civil Supply Minister Hem Singh Bhadana, Chief Secretary CS Rajan, Additional Chief Secretary for Agriculture Ashok Sampatram, Principal Secretary for Finance Prem Singh Mehra, and Secretary and Commissioner of the Panchayati Raj Department Anand Kumar were among the other officers who were present at the meeting.
