Will Modi resign as PM after BJP’s defeat in Bihar, asks Lalu

Date:

Patna, Oct. 12 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Monday took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aggressive campaigning for the Bihar Assembly polls and asked whether he would step down after the BJP’s defeat in the state.

“Modi is the face of BJP in Bihar, campaigning with his entire ministry & machinery for last 3 months. Will he resign as PM after the defeat?” he tweeted.

Prime Minister Modi has been critical of Lalu and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar during his election rallies in the state.

“From 25 years, ‘bada bhai’ (Lalu) and ‘chhota bhai’ (Nitish) are running the government, but they did not think of developing the state,” he said while addressing an election rally at Bhabua earlier on Monday.

The Bihar elections are crucial for the BJP, which needs a majority in the Rajya Sabha. The BJP-led NDA Government has been unable to push key reforms in the Parliament because it is in a minority in the Rajya Sabha.
