Nagaland Governor asks ex-servicemen to work for peace

Date:

Nagaland Governor P B Acharya today called upon the ex-servicemen to strengthen the hands of the government towards achieving permanent peace in the state.

“There is a need for permanent peace to prevail in the state, and the present government is trying hard to bring peace. So as Ex-Servicemen, you should work towards strengthening the hands of the government,” the governor said.

He was addressing a gathering of ex-servicemen organised for seven districts of Nagaland at Military Station, Jakhama, about 18 kms from here.

Lauding their sacrifices towards the cause of the nation, Acharya said they should now guide the youngsters in attaining peace.

GOC of 3 Corps, Lt Gen Bipin Rawat, emphasised on the schemes of the Army and the State Government, tailored exclusively for the welfare of servicemen and their families. He said the Centre has taken the decision to implement One Rank One Pension for the benefit of the pensioners.
